Body contouring in a medical-aesthetics setting means reducing localised fat deposits and improving skin firmness without surgery. It is worth being precise about what that does and does not include.
It suits discrete, pinchable pockets that have not moved with consistent diet and training — the lower abdomen, flanks, inner thighs, the area under the bra line, beneath the chin. It works best in people within a stable, healthy weight range whose skin retains reasonable elasticity.
It is not a treatment for obesity, it does not replace nutrition or exercise, and it will not tighten significantly loose skin after major weight loss or pregnancy. That is a surgical question, and we will refer you rather than take your money.
The assessment itself is short and fairly blunt. We pinch the area, watch how the skin recoils, ask about your weight over the last two years, and ask whether anything is planned — a pregnancy, a surgery, a serious change in training — that would make waiting the better decision. A reasonable number of the people who ask us about body contouring leave with a recommendation to do nothing yet, and we would rather give it.
Our approach depends on what the assessment finds. Where the issue is primarily volume, energy-based fat reduction over a course of sessions is appropriate. Where the issue is laxity, focused ultrasound or radiofrequency to stimulate collagen in the deeper layers fits better. Frequently it is both, sequenced across several months.
A course is typically four to six sessions two to four weeks apart, each thirty to sixty minutes. There is no anaesthetic and no downtime; the treated area may feel tender, warm or mildly numb for a day or two. Results develop gradually as the body clears the treated tissue.
Results vary considerably between individuals, and a sensible expectation is a visible improvement in shape rather than a change in dress size. Weight gained after a course will change the result.
We photograph and measure at the start, at the midpoint and at twelve weeks, so the conversation about whether it worked is based on the record rather than on memory.
Each of these is performed here under physician supervision. Which one is right depends on the assessment, and more than one may be combined over a course.
Non-invasive body sculpting sessions tailored to your goals.
The shape of a course is the same whichever treatment your plan settles on. What changes is how many appointments sit inside it and how long the result takes to appear.
We take a medical history, assess the concern in good light — at rest and in animation where that matters — and take standardised photographs. You leave with a written plan carrying prices and timelines. Nothing is treated on the day unless you ask, you are medically suitable, and you have had time to read the consent form.
The appointment itself is usually the shortest part. Treatments for this concern run between 1 h and 1 h 30 min. Consent is confirmed again before anything begins, and you can stop at any point.
Suitability is decided at the consultation, not at booking. These are the things that most often change a plan — or postpone it — and every one of them is asked about before anything is treated.
The first lines to appear are usually the ones you make on purpose. Softening them is a question of movement, not erasure.
Faces do not only sag; they deflate. Working out where volume has actually gone is what separates a refreshed result from an overfilled one.
High-intensity focused ultrasound for non-surgical lifting.
How quickly a change appears depends on the mechanism. A treatment that relaxes a muscle shows over days; anything that works by remodelling collagen keeps developing for weeks after the visit, which is why the result is judged later rather than in the mirror on the way out. Your aftercare sheet goes home with you and is in your portal.
We photograph you again under the same conditions and compare properly, rather than from memory. This is where a small adjustment costs nothing. It is included in the price of the treatment, not booked as an extra appointment.
Where a course is needed, sessions are spaced to the biology rather than to the diary, and we reassess before each one. If the photographs do not show the change we expected, we say so and change the plan.
Enlarged pores, roughness and the shallow craters left by acne are all scaffold problems, and the scaffold sits below where any cream can reach.
Bring what you have noticed. We will assess it properly, photograph it, and give you a written plan — including the honest answer if body contouring is not best treated here.
