Expression lines arrive in a predictable order. The horizontal bands across the forehead, the vertical elevens between the brows and the fan at the outer corner of the eye are all dynamic lines: they appear when the muscle underneath contracts and vanish when it relaxes. After years of repetition the skin above begins to hold a faint crease even at rest, and that crease is a static line, which behaves differently.
Which of the two you are looking at decides how it is treated. Dynamic lines respond well to a neuromodulator, which reduces how forcefully a specific muscle contracts. Static lines that have already etched into the skin usually need something that works on the skin itself — collagen stimulation through microneedling or radiofrequency, laser rejuvenation, or in some areas a small amount of soft hyaluronic acid placed superficially.
Age is only one of the inputs. Cumulative sun exposure, smoking, sleep position, genetics and simply how expressive you are all contribute, which is why two people of the same age can have very different foreheads.
At your consultation we assess the face at rest and in animation, and we photograph both. That matters, because the goal is almost never a face that does not move. The results people are still happy with a year later are the ones where friends noticed they looked rested and could not say why. We would rather treat conservatively, review you at two weeks and add a little than start too heavy and wait three months for it to wear off.
Neuromodulator treatment takes about fifteen minutes. The effect appears over three to ten days and typically lasts three to four months. Skin treatments run on a slower clock: collagen remodelling continues for eight to twelve weeks after a session, and a course of three or four is usual.
All injectable treatment here is performed under physician supervision after a medical history review. Individual results vary, and not every line is best treated with an injectable — sometimes the honest answer is a retinoid and better sun protection.
Each of these is performed here under physician supervision. Which one is right depends on the assessment, and more than one may be combined over a course.
Neuromodulator treatment to soften expression lines — forehead, frown and crow's feet.
Collagen induction therapy for texture, scars and pores.
Radio-frequency microneedling (Morpheus8) for deep remodelling.
Micro-injections of hyaluronic acid for deep hydration and glow.
The shape of a course is the same whichever treatment your plan settles on. What changes is how many appointments sit inside it and how long the result takes to appear.
We take a medical history, assess the concern in good light — at rest and in animation where that matters — and take standardised photographs. You leave with a written plan carrying prices and timelines. Nothing is treated on the day unless you ask, you are medically suitable, and you have had time to read the consent form.
The appointment itself is usually the shortest part. Treatments for this concern run between 30 min and 1 h 15 min. Consent is confirmed again before anything begins, and you can stop at any point.
How quickly a change appears depends on the mechanism. A treatment that relaxes a muscle shows over days; anything that works by remodelling collagen keeps developing for weeks after the visit, which is why the result is judged later rather than in the mirror on the way out. Your aftercare sheet goes home with you and is in your portal.
We photograph you again under the same conditions and compare properly, rather than from memory. This is where a small adjustment costs nothing. It is included in the price of the treatment, not booked as an extra appointment.
Where a course is needed, sessions are spaced to the biology rather than to the diary, and we reassess before each one. If the photographs do not show the change we expected, we say so and change the plan.
For context rather than as a forecast: the published case studies using these treatments ran 1–4 sessions over 4–26 weeks. Individual results vary, and your own plan is decided at consultation.
Photographed under the same lighting, distance and lens at every visit, and published unretouched with written consent.
Photographs are published with written client consent and are not retouched. Individual results vary; nothing shown here is presented as a typical or guaranteed outcome.
Quotes are published with permission and shown with a first name and initial only.
Faces do not only sag; they deflate. Working out where volume has actually gone is what separates a refreshed result from an overfilled one.
Enlarged pores, roughness and the shallow craters left by acne are all scaffold problems, and the scaffold sits below where any cream can reach.
Sun spots, melasma and post-acne marks look alike and behave nothing alike. Treating the wrong one can leave you worse off than before.
Bring what you have noticed. We will assess it properly, photograph it, and give you a written plan — including the honest answer if fine lines & wrinkles is not best treated here.
